Inside a single call

Six stages, all inside one ~800ms voice loop.

Every inbound call runs through this pipeline. STT, reasoning, policy enforcement, tool calls, TTS — streamed concurrently so the caller hears a human-paced response.

1. Caller dials your number

Twilio routes the inbound call to a Cloudflare Workers WebSocket endpoint. Connection is established before the second ring.

2. Deepgram Nova transcribes in real time

Streaming speech-to-text with sub-50ms finalization. Industry-tuned vocabulary for dental, medical, legal, and other regulated verticals.

3. Reasoning routes intent

Claude or your industry's fine-tuned Gemini model interprets intent. The policy engine checks guardrails: SAFE Act for mortgage, HIPAA for medical, food allergens for restaurant, etc.

4. Tools execute the action

Book the appointment, look up the patient, qualify the lead, transfer to the right department, or take a message — directly against your systems of record.

5. Deepgram Aura speaks back

Streaming text-to-speech with a natural voice. End-to-end response budget under 800ms so the caller doesn't feel the AI lag.

6. The call is summarized

Recording (with consent), transcript, structured summary, and any captured data (lead details, appointment slot, message) land in your dashboard before the caller hangs up.
